A night of comedy in aid of Headway East London.
The Stand-UP 4 Headway Comedy Gig will take place on Thursday 25 November, Downstairs at The Water Poet (9-11 Folgate Street, Spitalfields, London E1). It promises to be wicked night out for groups of friends, colleagues and family. All funds raised will go towards supporting people affected by brain injury.
Featuring: Tony Dunn, Stephen Hill, Grainne Maguire, Matt Richardson, Paul Ricketts.
Doors open from 7pm and the main event kicks off at 7.30pm and will finish before 10pm. Downstairs bar open during interval(s).

Tony Dunn
Although still a relative newcomer Tony Dunn has been making waves on the comedy circuit since starting out at London’s open mic nights in May 2008. His skilful writing and relaxed delivery have gained him bookings with many of the countries top comedy clubs including The Comedy Cafe, Up the Creek, Downstairs at the Kings Head, The Stand, The Comedy Store, Soho Comedy and many many more.
Tony is also the resident MC at Timeout and Londonisfunny.com recommended North London comedy night Scurvy Wednesdays.
In August 2008, Tony took the show ‘Topical Scurvy’ to the Edinburgh Festival (with Charlie Duncan and Lawrence Francis). Reviews said it was…

Stephen Hill
Stephen is a London based stand up comedian and writer who first got into stand up when he auditioned for Jimmy Carr’s Comedy Idol in 2006. Since then Stephen has been doing the stand up on the circuit and shared a stage with the likes of Richard Herring, Russell Howard, Lee Mack, Andrew Maxwell, Reginald D. Hunter and Jeff Green. Grainne Maguire

Paul Ricketts
Paul Ricketts’ distinctive skewed view of the world informs his black ‘sub-urban’ comedy. His intelligent humour focuses not only on sharp observations from life, but also racial, cultural and satirical subject, intermingled with strangle tales of ordinary madness.
His Edinburgh 2009 hour show ‘Cutter’s Choice’ went on to be performed in Islington schools as part of their Black History Month Events, plus successful runs at The Hen & Chickens Theatre, London, Leicester and Brighton Fringe Festivals – winning the Fringe Guru Editors’ Choice Award 2010. Paul’s last Edinburgh show ‘Kiss The Badge, Fly The Flag!’ received a ‘Must See’ rating from The Stage, Remotegoat.co.uk and Three Weeks. (link)
