Corporate Support

Baton Challenge

The Baton Challenge is a staff-led initiative raising both funds and profile – at no direct cost to your organisation – although you may choose to do match-giving. This is a new initiative introduced by Headway East London in 2011 and is a fantastic way for your organisation to support us. The concept is based on challenge and fun!

Baton HolderFrom taking part in sponsored events, to organising dress-down days or a fundraising social in-house. You will hold the Baton for a determined period of time and you decide the start and finishing dates. We only ask that at the end of your time you hand the Baton to another organisation willing to get involved and raise money for Headway East London in a similar way.

The 2011-12 Baton Challenge holders is Bolt Burdon Kemp, who aim to raise over £10,000 for Headway East London. Read how they did it.

Sponsorship opportunities

Events - Headway East London holds a number of events each year that bring branding, marketing and PR benefits to our corporate partners, including the Dance Marathon taking place on Saturday 28 April 2012 at York Hall, Bethnal Green, and Family Day’s at Headway House. We are also welcome the opportunity for companies to host events at their venue – whether it be a reception or an art exhibition on behalf of Headway East London.

Artwork - Art is available to be purchased in their original design, through commissioned work or as a selection of prints (cards and posters). Some of the Headway House members’ art is currently displayed at Anthony Gold Solicitors in London Bridge and Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. To see a selection of the pieces visit the Art Catalogue.

Publications – Each year the members of Headway House produce four editions of the Member’s newsletter that gets distributed to fellow members, family and carers and supporters. Printing and postage costs the charity considerably and we are always looking for corporate partners to sponsor the newsletter or kindly print the newsletter in-house.

Project funding

Our targeted areas of work reaches those most in need. We will work with you to identify the funding area that is best aligned to your core values and community interests. Below are examples of how your donation can make a difference:

• £300 would fund resources for art activities for three months
• £500 would fund 25 hours of outreach work for people with acquired brain injury
• £1,000 would fund the family support work for a month
• £3,936 would fund one person with acquired brain injury to attend the Headway House once/week for a year
• £5,000 would meet the funding gap for all of Headway East London services for one week
• £25,000 would fund a 3 day/week counselling/physiotherapy service for one year.

Employee Development: Take part in a sporting challenge

There are a number of running events ranging from the Adidas 5k Women’s Challenge in Hyde Park, the British 10K London Run, half marathons and marathons taking place throughout the UK. If your company has a running team established within your organisation, they can recruit new runners to take part and have training groups for those who have never trained  for such events. Other events also include sponsored swim, cycling, triathlons or walks. All of which are proven popular and will get many employees involved.

Team Building/Corporate volunteering opportunities

Not all fundraising is about money – it can be about donating time through volunteering. We would like employees to take part in day trips, or volunteer their time at Headway House working with our members, whether that is during art or IT sessions, to running our craft stall at Spitalfields Market. For more information about corporate volunteering, contact Sandra Ma at sandra.ma@headwayeastlondon.org

Matched-giving

If you have a member of staff or a group of employees taking part in a challenge event, you can support their fundraising effort through matched-giving whereby you match the money raised by staff. Therefore if an employee gives/raises £20 to Headway East London, so do you.

Host the Headway East London stall in your office for a day

We welcome companies who would like to host a stall in their foyers at lunchtime in London for us to sell original arts and hand-made crafts to staff and visitors.
