Family Support
This is an advice, advocacy and information service for family members and carers of people with an acquired brain injury. Either the family member or the person with the brain injury must live within Headway East London’s catchment area.
A Family Support Co-ordinator can offer emotional support as well as advice and advocacy regarding benefits, care packages, direct payments, social/vocational activities, housing, rehabilitation opportunities and signposting to other services.
There are also regular support group meetings and information events for family members and carers.
Support can be offered over the telephone, by email, or in person at Headway East London. Please contact Amy Neeb, Family Support Coordinator on amy.neeb@headwayeastlondon.org or call Amy on 020 7749 7790.
We can also organise home visits or arrange to meet at another convenient place in the community. There is no set time frame for how long we will work with a family member or carer. The length of time will depend on what is happening in the person’s life and what sort of support they need.
For a full service specification and additional information see Family Support Factsheet.
