Settling in to Headway
by Sue K
September 8, 2009
Today is my 10th visit to “HEADWAY”. My day didn’t begin well as I got up at 5am remembering that I hadn’t written my contribution to the “News’ Letter”. My typing woke up my Husband, John who was getting up at 5.30am, to be at School, before 7am to open the gate for the School Photographer.
Washed, dressed & breakfasted, ready for my Medical Courier pick up by 8.18am. I prepared my packed lunch, which I left ready by the front door to save time. After an hours’ wait I phoned “HEADWAY” to express my concerns, to be told that the Medical Courier had been in a traffic accident, but another was on it’s way. All 4 of us arrived at 11.35am. It is always good to see friendly faces’. I then joined the Discussion Group, talking about their Brain Injury & how it had affected their memory skills’? This was very interesting, but at the same time upsetting as it brings’ back so many unhappy memories’ for myself! We then discussed our stratergies’ for helping our memory skills’? Mine, were, using my Diary, Mobile Phone & Post-its’. Others’ use a White Board.
