On Wednesday 11 November, Headway East London brought together comedians Silky, The Silky Pair, Jo Ogden, Nick Kenwright and Duncan Oakley to perform at a comedy night at The Water Poet in aid of the charity.
The comedians, all performing for free, raised over £750 through tickets sales which will go towards running the Headway House which is based just off Kingsland Road, E2.
The stand up comedy on the night ranged from a snappy adapted version of ‘The Reunion’ by the opening act the Silky Pair who set the scene for Jo Ogden to have the audience wanting more with her hilarious recital of her personal life, to a debut musical comedy performance by Nick Kenwright. Duncan Oakley compered throughout the night and the evening ended with the Headline act Silky leaving the audience wanting more!
Miriam Lantsbury, Chief Executive of Headway East London ‘it was a great night and we hope it will become an annual event. I would like to thank The Water Poet for hosting the event and the acts giving up their time to help make this night possible.’
