Marilene Antoni, a solicitor at Bolt Burdon Kemp, specialising in cases involving brain injury said: “As a huge supporter of Headway East London and fundraising coordinator on behalf of my firm, I wanted to organise an artwork event that would raise money and awareness for the charity. Members from Headway East London created a wonderful array of artwork especially for the evening, from fantastic sculptures and colourful paintings, to beautiful jewellery and stunning cards. It was a wonderful evening and I am absolutely delighted that £4,335 was raised from the event for such a deserving charity.
My firm are the charity’s first ever baton holders for 2011/2012, and staff have been enthusiastic and participated in various activities throughout the year, which have included a walkathon, a 5k run, numerous delicious cake baking sales, and purchasing artwork for our offices, not to mention a skydiving challenge which raised £10,000 alone.
In total we have raised over £16,000 so far, and all the money is going to Headway East London which does such incredible work and provides invaluable support for people who have suffered an acquired injury, and their families across North and East London.”
