Hot and sweaty money for Headway

16 runners raised over £2800 for Headway East London at the ASICS British10k London run on Sunday 11 july.

Headway volunteers, supporters from law firms Davies Arnold Cooper, and DWF LLP, and two brain injury survivors of Headway East London overcame the sweltering heat and exhaustion to battle through to the finishing line among 30,000 other runners.

This was the second year in a row that Headway East London has had runners in this race.

Headway East London supports people affected by acquired brain injury and the money raised on the day will go towards physical therapies such as: Neuro Physiotherapy, Yoga, Craniosacral Therapy and Exercise Therapy. These therapies have a direct impact on a person’s life as it helps them towards their goal of independence.

Each year Headway East London needs to raise over a quarter of a million pounds to provide a range of services which includes the daily running of the Headway House, community outreach and family support, occupational programmes and a younger peoples network (16 - 30yrs).
